Amazon invoices & tax data
The right invoicing path for your Amazon orders
Not every Amazon seller follows the same invoicing process. eCommerce One supports your model: invoices issued by Amazon, Amazon tax data for your own invoices, or tax determination and invoicing in eCommerce One.

The key question is who calculates VAT and who issues the invoice. eCommerce One follows the Amazon model you use.
Amazon issues the invoice
With Amazon VCS, Amazon calculates VAT and issues the authoritative invoice on your behalf. eCommerce One carries over Amazon's invoice number, tax and amount figures unchanged into a replica in your own design. The replica is ready there for your records and accounting.
- Amazon's invoice stays authoritative – no second invoice
- Replica in your own design for records and accounting
Amazon calculates VAT; you issue the invoice
Amazon provides tax and amount data for each shipment in the VAT Invoice Data Report (VIDR). eCommerce One creates your invoice from those figures and sends it to Amazon. This path is often called VCS Lite.
- Works with Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) and merchant fulfilment (FBM)
- Use Amazon's tax figures without recalculating them
eCommerce One determines tax and creates the invoice
You use your own tax data instead of Amazon's VAT calculation. eCommerce One determines the tax context from the available delivery data, creates a numbered invoice and sends the document to Amazon.
- Tax data and invoice directly from your shipment details
- Keep multiple shipments from one order linked
For invoices you issue
From shipment to sending your invoice to Amazon
Amazon provides VIDR tax figures, or eCommerce One determines tax from shipment data. eCommerce One then creates your numbered invoice in your design and sends it to Amazon.

Amazon's invoice, available in eCommerce One too
Amazon issues the authoritative invoice. eCommerce One creates a replica from its invoice data in your own design and links the document to the order, archive and DATEV export. Your document flow stays complete without issuing a second invoice.

After the sale
Keep returns and refunds clearly documented
A partial refund, full refund or cancellation after invoicing stays connected to the original sale. Keep a clear view of your documents even after a return.
When you issue the invoice
With VIDR or your own tax determination, eCommerce One creates a numbered credit note in your design from matched refunds. It refers to the original invoice, retains its tax context and is sent to Amazon.
When Amazon issues the invoice
With Amazon VCS, Amazon issues the authoritative credit note. eCommerce One carries its data into a replica in your design and links it to the original document, archive and accounting. No second credit note is issued.
What you gain day to day
All three invoicing paths keep the order, document and accounting connected in a clear flow, even when an order ships in parts.
Keep shipments connected
Orders, shipments and their invoices stay traceable even when an order is fulfilled in parts.
More time to sell
For invoices you issue, you avoid duplicate data entry and uploading the finished document yourself.
Corrections linked to the original sale
Refunds and credit notes that can be clearly assigned stay linked to the original transaction.
